As part of the 2018 Asian Games preparation, the Ministry of Tourism and the South Sumatra Culture and Tourism Agency held a mentoring session, or Bimtek, on how to employ tourism branding during the games on Thursday (25/05) at the Arista Hotel in Palembang, South Sumatra.
Palembang will co-host the 2018 Asian Games with Jakarta.
“Organizers need to now how to use the Pesona Indonesia and Wonderful Indonesia brands, down to how the logos, colors and supergraphics should be used,” Esthy Reko Astuti, the ministry’s archipelago tourism marketing development deputy, said.
The mentoring session was attended by representatives from the Palembang Tourism Agency, Palembang Tourism Polytechnic, Indonesian Charms Generation (GenPI) South Sumatra and developers specializing in building tourist attractions, such as the Al-Munawwar Village and Kapitan Village near Palembang.
The head of the South Sumatra Culture and Tourism Agency Irene Camelyn Sinaga also used the event to introduce “Explore Your South Sumatra,” another branding developed by the agency with MarkPlus. The new brand will have its official launch at the ministry’s headquarters in the Sapta Pesona Building in Central Jakarta in the near future.
