Ariana Grande’s new album “thank u, next” is the break-up album we all need right now, and apparently Twitter can’t get enough.
The 12-track album was released Friday, following a tough year for the pop singer, which included the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller and a break-up with her then-fiance Pete Davidson. All this happened while she was seeking therapy to process trauma from a 2017 terrorist attack that killed 23 people after her concert in Manchester, England.
But the 25-year-old persevered and released back-to-back No. 1 singles, “7 rings” and “thank u, next.”
Now the full album is out, and people listening to the album took to Twitter to share their thoughts, which were overwhelmingly positive.
Here are some of the best reactions:
“Wow she really dropped an album of 12 unskippable songs… a masterpiece #thankunext,” one user wrote.
“Thank U, Next has no skips. I REPEAT #ThankUNext HAS NO SKIPS. PERIOD,” another said.
“#NowPlaying: ‘Ghostin’ by Ariana Grande. #ThankUNext,” with an emotional video clip.
“breakup with your girlfriend, cause i’m bored,” another tweeted with a photo.
“i’m sorry, sweetener can’t come to the phone right now … why ? oh, cause she’s dead !” another said, referencing a Taylor Swift lyric.
