The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has officially detained six suspects over alleged corruption in the procurement project for Banyuasin Education Office, South Sumatra.
“The six suspects will be detained for 20 days starting today in several prisons,” said the KPK spokeswoman Yuyuk Andriati Iskan in Jakarta, Monday, September 5, 2016.
ZM, businessman Kirman, Banyuasin Regional Secretary Domestic Affairs head Rustami, Banyuasin Education Office head Umar Usman, Banyuasin Education Office Education Development head Sutaryo, Banyuasin Regent Yan Anton Ferdian have been named as suspects since Sunday, September 4, 2016. They were arrested in sting operations in Palembang and Jakarta.
Yan has allegedly received Rp1 billion from Zulfikar and used it to perform hajj with his wife. He has allegedly involved Rustami, Umar, Kirman and Sutaryo in receiving the money. Yan has allegedly promised Zulfikar a project in Banyuasin Education Office to return the favor.
